Constructed of 3,500 logs, Point Defiance's Rustic Bridge was over 250 feet long and approximately 80 feet high. The bridge (along with the smaller pedestrian bridge) was built in 1892 over Sorux Gulch, located midway between the present boathouse and Owens Beach. It was dismantled in 1920.
